I am from Burlington Vermont, a very small American city. I started training in Tae Kwan Do at a young age but didn't take martial arts seriously until I discovered Shaolin Kung Fu when I was 15 years old at the Vermont Kung Fu Academy. I came to China for the first time when I was 18 to participate in a Yin Style Bagua seminar held in Beijing. After returning to Vermont I knew right away that I wanted to move back to Beijing and learn Chinese and martial arts full time. After spending almost a year in the States I finally got enough money together to make it back to Beijing in the fall of 1999, I was 19 years old. I enrolled in the Beijing Education Institute and trained at Shi Cha Hai Sports School. Eventually I enrolled in the Beijing Sports University to further my martial arts training. After I finished school I worked a number of extremely pointless and boring desk jobs in various international corporations based in Beijing. One day I woke up and decided to quit my job and use my passion (wushu) to make a living. I started modeling, then stunt work and eventually acting.
